Mary Lou and Dave Kelley

Aunt Lou came to visit us one time and I stepped on her toe or hurt her toe somehow...I should remember the story , they told it often enough...she must have said something to me...so I went and dragged her suitcase into the kitchen and told her "Go home ou, go home." We would make trips with Granny to go see Aunt Lou in the nursing home in Louisiana.

Emily Inez Kelley Logan

Emily Inez Kelley was born on April 8, 1912 to Charles Mack Kelley and Ethel Eva Johnson Kelley. She was the first and probably the only girl born to the couple.
Her mother Ethel died when Inez was two years old. The children went to live with their grandparents, John B. and Mary Johnson. The Johnson's had an older daughter named Viola who couldn't read or write and possibly had epileptic seizures. They also had their own younger children at home. Ethel's children couldn't stay with their grandparents so they finally went to live with Mary Lou Johnson Kelley and Dave Kelley, who had a large family also. Aunt Lou was Ethel's sister and Uncle Dave was Mack's brother.
To be cont...

My Granny Inez loved roses, actually she just loved flowers...
she was still gardening into her early 80's...this picture was taken before her entire yard was covered in flowers and trees.
My Granny loved purple and I love purple, she loved to cook, quilt, sew and knit. She taught me to knit when I was 5 years old. She gave wonderful hugs...she braided my hair and made me biscuits and gravy...of course she made them for everyone, but I always felt special.
